World Class Zoo In Chiang Mai, Thailand

colorful thai temple

Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second largest city. It is also the second most important city with a huge tourism industry. The latest push is to turn it into one of Asia’s main convention centers.

Chiang Mai’s population is exploding since it is one of the most appealing cities not only in Thailand but in all of Southeast Asia.

Why? It still has a laid back atmosphere which has fallen by the wayside in Bangkok already. Despite being a major city, people are still friendly, courteous, helpful, and always ready to flash you a friendly smile.

Chiang Mai is the gateway to the mountainous northern part of the country which hides many attractions in scenic valleys. This is also where several hill tribes are located which are distinctly different from the Thai people and often recognized by their colorful clothing.

Trekking, waterfalls, hot springs, botanical gardens, elephant nature parks, tiger sanctuaries, mountain top temples, and breathtaking views are all within an hour’s drive of Chiang Mai.

The city itself has several mega malls, restaurants from all over the world, and a historic old town filled with narrow lanes, teak wood houses and ancient temples, all surrounded by a medieval moat.

The city has another draw: It has the largest concentration of Thai Massage schools in the world and many holistic practitioners from many different styles make their home here.

Looking for a yoga school? No problem. A meditation temple? Easy! Tai Chi training anyone? Available here!

Chiang Mai also puts on several gigantic festivals every year which draw people from all over Thailand and all over the world actually.

Today’s feature is Chiang Mai’s world class zoo which houses many animals in spacious surroundings.
